ABOUT ME
MY NAME IS MARINA VAN WALSUM - ROSSI
I am a body-oriented trauma recovery practitioner with several postgraduate specializations in relational trauma; specifically: C-PTSD, attachment trauma, developmental trauma, relational trauma and intergenerational trauma. I offer online counselling for personal impasses rooted in trauma. I do this through single sessions or on an ongoing basis, where you decide on the number of sessions you need and how often they take place.
TRAUMA CHANGES OUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
Trauma changes our nervous system, our brains and the way we see the world. This also happens with those traumas that might seem irrelevant to an adult, but are big in the eyes of child.
I think we as a society are not sufficiently aware of this and often underestimate the impact of trauma on each individual. We are not aware of how long we carry the effects of trauma with us; and how much they continue to influence our behaviour into adulthood.

Among other things, trauma affects our ability to make the right decisions when the stakes are high and we are experiencing a great amount of stress. This becomes painfully apparent under specific circumstances, which vary from person to person.
BEING ABLE TO RELY ON YOURSELF
Traditional approaches to treating the effects of trauma focus primarily on talking about the negative events of the past.

But what is fundamental to the treatment of trauma is the restoration of self-confidence: knowing that we can trust ourselves to make choices that are right for us; and accurately reflect who we are now, what we feel and what we want for ourselves.

My task is to shed light on the outdated survival strategies that are hidden obstacles on your path to greater autonomy and authenticity; and to support you in allowing new behaviors to emerge that better reflect who you are now.
ABOUT ME
Before I specialized in this field, I spent 20 years working to resolve conflicts arising from dysfunctional communication. Because of my history, I fully understand the process, pain, lived experience, and perspective of those who want to feel free from the effects of trauma.

What I love most about working with trauma is witnessing the small changes that ultimately lead someone to view their own past differently and see themselves in a more positive light.
​
I offer online counselling for personal impasses after trauma, with attention to post-traumatic growth. I do this through single or ongoing sessions, where you decide the number of sessions you need and how often they take place.

Trauma-focused counselling to help you work through personal impasses. Sessions take place in a confidential and safe environment, where you will be listened to without judgement. You are welcome also if you cannot remember any traumatic experiences in your past.
