Just like a hike through the mountains, trauma processing is about making progress.

MAKING CHOICES FREE FROM TRAUMA
TRAUMA RECOVERY

C-PTSD | ATTACHMENT TRAUMA | DEVELOPMENTAL TRAUMA | RELATIONAL TRAUMA | INTERGENERATIONAL TRAUMA

Each of us has the capacity to make choices free from our past.

But there are times when we stay stuck, and feel there is no way out or solution for a specific situation. That's when we are uncounsciously dealing with an old, unresolved dilemma.

In my counselling work we approach these particularly significant moments in our lives, as starting points for recovering from trauma.

You are welcome if you have experienced some form of relational trauma (complex trauma, attachment trauma, developmental trauma, intergenerational trauma) and wish to make choices that better reflect who you are, deep down inside.

WELCOME!

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

We recognise that an unresolved childhood dilemma is at play when we feel overwhelmed by intense and conflicting emotions. No alternative we can think of to resolve the situation we are in seems to fit, and it becomes increasingly difficult to make the right choice.

My name is Marina van Walsum - Rossi.

My approach to this type of situation is from a trauma perspective.

Whatever your personal response is to feeling stuck, torn between two opposing forces, please be assured that your reaction is completely understandable to me.

However, if that's your wish, I will help you to develop behaviours that are consistent with who you really are; and  no longer rely on the strategies that you developed as a child to survive.

I use NARM (Neuro Affective Relational Model), a neuroscience-based, body-centered powerful methodology that does not require you to relive trauma in order to process it.

IN AN ORGANIC WAY

CLARITY

What usually happens during a NARM conversation is that you organically gain more clarity about the connection between past and present (including awareness of the impact of small, somewhat "forgotten" traumas).

SENSE OF FREEDOM

As you regain your authenticity, you begin to experience greater freedom in your actions and self-expression.

AUTONOMY

You develop a sense of autonomy in relation to the past and the current environment.

AGENCY

You become aware of your inner resources while increasing your sense of agency.

Traumaverwerking werkt bevrijdend net als een tocht door de bergen.

IN MY COUNSELLING

ORIENTATION ON THE PRESENT

We don't dig for traumas. You don't have to relive your traumatic experiences in order to process them.

FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW OR ACHIEVE

We start each session by discussing what you would like to achieve and focus only on that.

YOU CHOOSE

The choice is yours in every way: you decide the number of sessions you need and their frequency.

LIVED EXPERIENCE

Because of my own history and experience with trauma I have a full understanding of your perspective and the complexity of your emotions.

ONE-OFF OR ONGOING

You are welcome for a one-off  60 minutes session or for ongoing sessions. You decide the frequency that suits you.

NO LONG WAITING LIST

Short-term support for what you want to know or achieve.

Trauma in a family, decontextualized over time, looks like family traits.

Trauma in a people, decontextualized over time, looks like culture"
